Monday March 22nd marked the beginning of our Spring/Summer cooking class registration. Our line-up started at 6:50 a.m.! Registration continues in person throughout Monday. Beginning Tuesday, telephone registration will begin at 8 a.m. In person and phone registration will continue through the week.A Jill’s Table cooking class makes a great gift.

Chicagoans were painting the Chicago river green last week to get ready for St. Patrick’s Day, but at the International Home and Housewares Show it was all about the color purple. More than 60,000 people from around the world attend this show at McCormick Place, that features everything for the home. Le Creuset featured their new color Cassis. Peugeot also had beautiful purple peppermills. Bodum had a huge new line of products with purple being one of the dominant colors. Lots of other bright colors were in abundance with orange being another big hue. There were plenty of intelligent, environmentally friendly solutions for packing lunches and lots of containers to store foods....

Weekends are an ideal time to get friends over for a casual dinner and perhaps a movie. There’s a wealth of wonderful food-related movies that can set the stage for great evening. With the Toronto CGTA gift show behind us, we look forward to the International Home and Housewares Show this month in Chicago. We’ll be checking out all the new products for the kitchen and home and tracking the latest trends. We’ll be sampling the new Chicago French Market for some new eateries, too. And speaking of trends… did you know that puddings are the new “cupcake”?
