What's New for the Kitchen & The Table

Good Taste, Tastes Great

What makes the Nespresso Citiz coffee maker so great is its practical design with an artistic message. It’s always going to make a delicious espresso – you can’t beat its quality-seal technology and superior manufacturing -- but it’s the union of functionality and “retro-modern” design that makes drinking each cup of coffee a work of art. $299 or $369

This little Piggy is Perfect

Salt pigs have been immensely popular in recent years with the wide varieties of sea salts that have become available to the cook. The new Pop Store caught our eye with their colourful silicone tops that can be popped down to cover whatever you place in the container. It’s suitable for your favourite salt or sugar. A spoon is included. $27.99

Mobile Thermo Timer

Cookie Cutters No More Leaky Bottles

We loved the look and feel of the unique StoneStopper that we saw at the New York Gift Show in August. Each stopper is made with a smooth sea stone, affixed to a sturdy stainless and rubber stopper. The stopper produces a very tight seal, making sure that wine or other liquids do not leak from a bottle, even if it is stored on its side. The StoneStopper comes with a base, making it an easy and attractive storage solution. Handmade in New England, they are a great gift for that hard-to-buy-for person. $29.99

Fountain of Goodness

This professional juice fountain from Australian company Breville is designed for fast, simple and efficient citrus juice extraction. For 75 years, Breville has been designing and manufacturing small kitchen appliances for everyday kitchen use. This die-cast commercial design features two stainless steel filters for variable pulp control, dishwasher-safe parts, a soft grip handle and drip-stop juice spout. “I’ve found this fountain so easy to use,” says Nellie Haig, who works on gift baskets at Jill’s. “The fresh orange juice we have every morning is uncomparable.” $349.99

A “Must” for Every Cook

Sharon Tyler Herbst’s The Food Lover’s Companion has been a top seller at Jill’s for as long as we’ve been in business.
