We loved the look and feel of the unique StoneStopper that we saw at the New York Gift Show in August. Each stopper is made with a smooth sea stone, affixed to a sturdy stainless and rubber stopper. This professional juice fountain from Australian company Breville is designed for fast, simple and efficient citrus juice extraction. For 75 years, Breville has been designing and manufacturing small kitchen appliances for everyday kitchen use. This die-cast commercial design features two stainless steel filters for variable pulp control, dishwasher-safe parts, a soft grip handle and drip-stop juice spout. “I’ve found this fountain so easy to use,” says Nellie Haig, who works on gift baskets at Jill’s. “The fresh orange juice we have every morning is uncomparable.” $349.99

From the makers of “I am not a paper cup” is the Eco Cup™. This porcelain cup with silicone lid and sleeve is microwave and dishwasher safe. $11.99

We really like the new Chef’n Cheese Slicer. It’s easy to use with one hand and easily slices your favourite semi-soft cheeses into uniform pieces. There is an adjustable knob allowing three different thicknesses. Available in October. $14.99

With the plethora of different teas on the market, we were pleased to find the CDN tea thermometer. This digital thermometer will ensure that your water temperature is precisely what it should be for the particular type of tea you are using. It comes pre-programmed with settings for white, green, red and black tea, along with settings for different brewing strengths and a timer. Specially priced at $23.99 (regular $29.99)

The Trudeau silicone pinch is one of those handy gadgets that will get lots of use in the kitchen. It’s ideal for taking a hot lid off a pan or pulling an oven rack. Available in an assortment of colours. $3.99

We’re pleased the makers of our bestselling Duncan Kitchen Grips oven mitts have produced the Petite Chef. Designed for young cooks or petite women, these mitts made of FLXaPrene ™ are a smaller version. The unique material is heat- and stain-resistant , and very flexible and comfortable to use. $39.99 a pair.

Sharon Tyler Herbst’s The Food Lover’s Companion has been a top seller at Jill’s for as long as we’ve been in business. We were thrilled to hear that a deluxe hard-cover version will be released this fall. The new version will offer more than 7,000 entries, with many that include illustrations and an in-depth glossary of many items such as mushrooms. The smaller, soft-cover version is still available. Emile Henry continues to be one of our favourite oven-to-table products. Available in the newest urban colours, this small rectangular baking dish is ideal for everyday casseroles and vegetables. Specially priced at $24.99 (regular $39.99)
