Specialty Food

Items for entertaining are our specialty at Jill’s and include a broad selection of premium crackers, antipastos, compotes and savoury treats. Check out Sprucewood’s shortbreads and All The Best cheese straws. Need a special hostess gift? We’ll gladly put together some of our favourite items for entertaining in our Jill’s Table gift bag. You’ll also find one of the largest selections of cocktail napkins in the city.
Truffle and specialty mushroom products are some of Jill’s personal favourites.
We stock both the versatile white and black truffle oil, truffle salsa, butter, cream, honey and salt. We also have dried porcini mushrooms and porcini salt.
Whether it’s Ghirardelli chocolate chips or cocoa for baking to fabulous jams and marmalades from around the world, there are lots of sweet treats to check out at Jill’s Table. In addition, we carry organic biscuits from Duchy, fabulous chocolate and caramel confections from Coco Mira, and honey from Italy.
We carry Mediterranean products including premium rices for risotto, artisanal pasta and Spanish la bomba rice for paella. There is squid-ink pasta and Gia Russa’s fabulous whole wheat pasta, plus farro and sought-after baby basmati rice.
Our cooler and freezer are small, but they are packed with high-quality, hard-to-find items. In the refrigerator we love Palm d’Or duck confit. We also carry a variety of anchovies which are a must to create a proper Caesar salad. In the cheese department, we regularly have Epoisses from France and Le Chevre Noir and De Warwick tripe crème Brie from Quebec. Our favourite cheddar is Dubliner from Ireland. We also stock a particularly good Parmesan cheese. C’est Bon Chevre from St. Marys, Ontario is a top seller.  Also in the cooler is chorizo from Spain and exceptional pesto from Quebec. Our freezer regularly holds veal demi glace, frozen medallions of fois gras, lobes of grade A fois gras, Scottish smoked salmon, raspberry coulis and Dufflet’s fabulous grab-and-go frozen desserts.
The secret to some recipes is the sauce! You can’t go wrong when you use the finest ingredients and products. Jill’s offers a variety of exceptional choices from Blaze and El Majuelo balsamic glazes to Sable & Rosenfeld and Stonewall Kitchen products. We also carry the best pasta sauces in a jar, including Rao’s from New York and Mario Batali’s new line. Don’t forget to keep Pastene tomatoes and Callipo tuna stocked in the pantry. On the local side, we’re proud to carry The Garlic Box products.
We love olives at Jill’s Table. We sell the sought-after Sable and Rosenfeld “Tipsy Olive” line along with our best-selling Spanish anchovy-stuffed olives. You’ll also find pickled garlic, lemons, onions, sundried tomatoes and a wide selection of tapenades.
We’re big fans of mustards and our shelves are always growing. You will find the award-winning Mrs. McGarrigle’s mustards, Anton Kozlick’s and Maille to name a few.  We also offer a wide range of red pepper jellies, chutney and horseradishes.
One of the biggest steps a home cook can take is making the step from pre-ground pepper to using a pepper mill and quality sea salts for finishing dishes. We offer one of the largest selections of sea salts from Fleur du Sel from France, Halen Mon from Wales and red Hawaiian salt.  There is also a wide selection of both salt and pepper mills from Peugeot and William Bounds. For damp salts that won’t go in a salt grinder, there is an assortment of containers including the well-known “salt pigs.” Looking for some hard-to-find spices, we have saffron from Spain at all times and espelette pepper from France. Check out or grains of paradise, smoked black pepper and cooking lavender, too.
Looking for an unusual vinegar?  You’ll find it at Jill’s.  We stock a wide variety of balsamic vinegars including an aged 50 year old. Sherry vinegars from Spain grace our shelves along with aged wine vinegars from France. You’ll also find tarragon vinegar, raspberry, cassis, pomegranate, white balsamic and champagne vinegar. We also have the hard-to-find grape called “vin cotto” from Italy.
We have always taken pride in our selection of more than 40 extra virgin olive oils from around the world. We’re particularly proud of the Fonte di Foiano oils we bring in from Tuscany, Italy.  Check out our private label oil from this company and the “novello” that we bring in every December. This early harvest oil is grassy and peppery, and just fabulous to dip bread into or to finish a special salad. We also have the award-winning Merula from Spain, as well as olive oils from France and Greece. Also on the shelves: pumpkin seed, walnut, macadamia nut and avocado oils.
